　　根据一项新的报告显示，微软将在明年年初推出主要针对智能手机和平板电脑的 Windows Threshold ARM 预览版。Windows Threshold ARM 预览版将允许 Surface RT 和 Surface 2 等平板电脑用户来测试全新的 UI 2.0 用户界面。Windows Threshold ARM 预览版同时支持 Windows RT 平板电脑和 Windows Phone 设备。

　　Windows Threshold 被认为是微软迈向第一款云操作系统的步骤之一。Windows Threshold 将采用如 Azure 和 Office 365 那样的更新方式。这种更新方式同样适用于桌面和手机平板版本。

　　Windows Threshold 有可能是最后一版 Windows，之后不再会有 Windows10 或 Windows11。现在唯一的问题是，Windows Threshold 更新是否会基于付费订阅。微软已经计划让 Windows 7 和 Windows 8 用户免费升级到 Windows Threshold。
